In the film The Glass Umbrella, accompanied by Brussels-based international pianist Daniel BLUMENTHAL, Patricia Niedzwiecki explores her ideal capital of Europe, rediscovering Brussels in all its facets, new and sometimes unexpected and showing breathtaking perspectives.
Conceived by Louis Pommeraye, a young notary from Nantes, its ‘Passage Pommeraye’ was inaugurated in 1843 following three years of construction work marked by difficulties similar to those faced by Brussels’ Saint-Hubert Galleries, not least the extraordinary technical challenges that had to be overcome.
A remake of the film, featuring previously unseen material, is in the works and will be released soon.
